Glad tidings of great joy!!

The first issue of our new ASR Star newspaper was distributed in person by our staff to each classroom the week before Christmas.  The paper was entirely written and published by the students of our ST.A.R.S. Afterschool Program Newspaper Club.   Here is the online version:

Kieran Lynch (Editor in Chief, St. John’s University “Torch” and ASR graduate)

Grades:  6 through 8 and advanced elementary grade students

This club will provide students with the opportunity to develop their writing and editing skills.

Newspaper club members conduct interviews, report on school news, write articles and poetry, and learn how to layout produce a newspaper which is published and shared with the school community.

The club meets on Wednesday from 2:30pm to 4:30pm beginning October 9, 2013.

Fee:  $5 per session (total $50 due at first meeting)
